MPPA

22 Jul

Out right now, but just wanted to say briefly that Matt Pond PA is scoring our film. They’ve been my first choice since the *beginning* of this project and I’m way excited they’re on board.

More specifically, Matt Pond and Chris Hansen are writing the music. The drafts they’ve handed in are very exciting.

I’m now on the 5th cut of the film. We’re very close to locking picture and it will hopefully happen in the next week.

I’ve gotten great feedback from friends and from industry folk, and while the cuts we’ve made are hard, they’re good for the film and will mean a lot of material for the DVD!

More soon. Movie’s coming together more and more.

- Ben

as we wrap… a little extra…

22 Sep

Besides the many — many! — of you I know have been visiting this site regularly, I also know there’s a small army of you who’ve given your time and lovely faces to work as extras on Lebanon.

It’s thankless, we know. (Yes, guys, we heard you loud and clear.)

But to just give a little collective shout-out –as we WRAP – we wanna hear from you if you stuck it out. (After all, we’ve seen a couple of y’all posting.) This post’s an open thread: Tell us who you are — and where you snuck into shot…

In return for your hard work, you have our undying gratitude. Aww.

What you missed…

16 Sep

Fewer blog posts last week translate to a busy time on set: Apologies to all, but please skim through the photos to see how the hard work paid off with gorgeous footage…

Like last Wednesday, where Vicki (Samantha Mathis) taught Will (Josh Hopkins) how to play darts, at The Rusty Nail in Ardmore…

Or CJ (Rachel Kitson) learning the hard way about the bitchiness of high school, in Thursday’s scenes shot inside the now-defunct W. S. Peirce middle school in South Philadelphia…

And an appearance by Pete Pryor — Philly theater all-star, and lead of Hickernell’s previous film Cellar — as he breaks up the party for Will and Vicki, in a climactic scene shot Friday…

Like we’re sayin’, it’s all there in the photos. Get to it.

Photos from Stephen Q. Breslin

12 Sep

Boom Op, Stephen Bresen, originally uploaded by Lebanon Movie.

This post is long overdue, but I wanted to give a shout out to Lebanon’s Boom Op Steve Breslin for hooking us up w/ a ton of BTS snaps that he’s taken. When he’s not booming, he’s snapping and we greatly appreciate it. Check out all his photos, peppered throughout the first two weeks and I’m sure he’ll have more coming.

Look Everyone, It's Mary Beth Hurt!

4 Sep

Another day on the set of Lebanon and we’re in the thick of day number nine.  Production is spending the day on location at the Sofitel Philadelphia, as we welcome Mary Beth Hurt (Interiors, The Age of Innocence, Lady in the Water) to the picture.  She joins the film playing Jeanette, Will’s cold and jaded Mother.

After a 1/2 day of shooting scenes featuring Will and Jeanette, the production team will speed off to Lebanon, PA to spend two days filming on location in the title town.
