Why Eventful is so Important

22 Jun

See that “demand” button off to the right? Clicking  that button is *the* most important thing you can do to bring us to a theater near you.

That button takes you to a site called “Eventful,” which lets people demand that films they want to see come to *their* town. You enter your zipcode and email and then you have registered one “vote” for that movie. It tells the filmmakers (and our future distributor) how many people want to see the movie, and where.

If you want to see Lebanon, Pa… If you like the trailer, or have heard good things… If you like Josh, or Samantha, or like the town of Lebanon, or for any other reason to want to see this movie… If you *did* see it and liked it, NOW is the time to make a difference and click that demand button. Then, please tell your friends you did so, and that they should check out the trailer, and if they want to see the movie, they should demand it too. It only takes a few seconds, and it will make a *vital* difference.

Click “more” to read how in more detail!

We are currently talking with  distributors about the film. I can’t say too much at the moment, but the response has been very positive. People recognize we have a moving film that people respond to. I think we’ve “won the war” on whether this is a good film or not. But in this climate, both in the economy at large and in the independent film releasing scene, having a great film isn’t always enough. Distributors are being very careful about which films they take on, and only want to put out the ones where they can clearly see how they make a profit.

That is what makes your demand *so* important. Every demand we get, we can show the distributors: this many people want to see our film in this town. This isn’t just a marketing gimmick. Your demands, your votes, will have a *direct* influence on if we are in theaters at all, and if so, how widely we are released and to what areas.

So please click demand, and please spread the word to others. Every demand makes a huge difference.

I really appreciate your help, and want so much to bring the movie to a theater near you. Together, we can make it happen. Thank you.

More very soon on our upcoming festivals! – Ben

I just watched the trailer and I loved it! It sounds like you guys are heading in the right direction to get this film out with decent distribution. Best of luck…and do Lebanon Pa proud!

Interested in seeing it. I grew up (and still live) in Lebanon pretty much most of my life.

Though the fact that the closest showing is in Harrisburg, it would be more appropriate to show it IN the city that you have filmed about. We have a theater here too, you know.

Don’t worry, that “Harrisburg metro area” is just a setting on eventful – it takes you to your nearest large city by default… but you can change that setting to display Lebanon… in any case, we know folks in Lebanon want to see the film and we will be bringing it there as soon as we can! We’ve already spoken to several theaters in the Lebanon area!

I was born and raised here in Lebanon as well and would love to see this in our theatre. It sounds like a great movie I am just hoping that it isn’t another movie that we look like back woods idiots that have no sense of the “real world” I don’t know if you have ever actually been here as in lived here but we have alot of people from NY, Philly, Nj that have been moving here for quite a few yrs and we have serious drug problems here as well now. Lebanon is smack between Reading, Lancaster and Harrisburg and you can tell. 1/2 the people that can have been moving to the suburbs(including me) because how bad it is getting. I mean no offense. I just hate seeing(or hearing in the case of certain NFL quarterbacks) that we are a a–backwards little christian town that has no future because our steel foundry closed. I wasn’t even born when it closed and our town is doing fine. I hope that you do justice to the area and not condem it, hopefully we will be able to watch it here instead of going to harrisburg them city folk go to fast for me! LOL just kidding! GOOD LUCK
