THE DONATE BUTTON
1 Mar
So you may have noticed a “donate” button appeared to the right a few weeks back.
And you may have thought, “If they’ve shot the movie already, how could they need money?!”
The answer is three-fold.
1) As many films do, we went a little over-budget during production, mostly due to unexpected expenses like damaged equipment, rain days, emergency situations, etc.
2) To pay these overages, the film had to borrow money, and so on top of those expenses we, like the rest of debtful America right now, have to pay interest until we have fully paid off those loans.
3) While production has wrapped, we still have post-production to pay for, which is about a quarter of the budget. And while we’ve successfully done things as cheaply as possible on this movie, we need more funds than we currently have to finish post at the level the film deserves.
So we are indeed in need of help, and if you can help us, it would be deeply appreciated. I know these are very hard times, so I won’t suggest an amount, but if you’re excited about seeing this film and can part with something in any amount, it’s a pressing, necessary help.
There are two ways to help bring Lebanon to the screen: tax-deductible donations and direct for-profit investment.
Tax-deductible donations to Lebanon can be made in any amount through our fiscal sponsor, The Greater Philadelphia Film Office. All donations over $100 will receive “Thanks” in the end credits of the film. Donations over $500 will receive “Special Thanks.” You can donate right now either by clicking the “donate” button to your right, or by sending a check written out to “Greater Philadelphia Film Office” to:
Greater Philadelphia Film Office
Attn: Joan Bressler / Lebanon Donation
100 South Broad Street, Suite 600
Philadelphia, PA 19110
(Please put “Donation for Lebanon” on the check’s memo line).
We also have a few remaining direct investment opportunities in Lebanon, in amounts of $2,500 or greater. If you are interested, please contact us at lebanon.movie@gmail.com.
I can’t tell you how vital your assistance is and how close we are to putting out a tremendous film. The three-year journey we’ve been on is almost complete, and with just a little bit of help at this final stage, we will bring this very special film to theaters. Thanks to you all for considering donating to our little film. I consider your help a personal favor.
If you have any questions, please email or just leave a comment below!
My heartfelt thanks,
Ben

Hello,
This is Andrea Johnson from the Lebanon Daily News (I had interviewed you in September) I was just wondering if you’d be interested in the paper putting in a news brief about the donations. If so, I can write up something small…
Thanks a lot,
Andrea
